Africamix Festival: Child Neglect and AIDS in Uganda: Hazel Twesigye
The Africamix Collective Volunteer Pledge For Needy Children Festival in Uganda will be held at the Constitutional Square in Kampala from November
The free festival to the public is a two-day volunteer alcohol free out door celebration that focuses on fostering and encouraging utilization of music celebration to help Combat child Abuse and Neglect. This will be achieved through inviting guest speakers from NGOs that are sake holders to share their experiences with various audiences.
Regardless of nationality, religious affiliation, race or how many miles we live away from each other, we really and truly must address the challenges of child abuse and neglect if we want a world that is stable.
Let's not be locked into our own concerns and contentment of only having a good life for ourselves but rather lets get concerned about what is happening around us, lets see life as it is and take to heart the problems and hardships of others around us.
A time when the problem of child abuse and neglect in Uganda is escalating, and at a time where all sectors in society are trying to address the AIDS issue, we need to tackle the problem from the grassroots. How can we curb the rate of AIDS spread when young ones are being defiled every other day? Children are left to fend for themselves; they are running away from harassment and scrub to prostitution, drugs just to mention few... Our role as parents, churches, artists, peace lovers and each individual in our own capacity cannot be ignored. Let's raise efforts together to fight this evil that is eating up our world today.
