Africamix Festival Sacramento Lineup
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Africamix festival coordinator Allan Camillo, announced today the musical line up for the Africamix Festival that will be held on June 29th-30th, 11:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. at California State University, Sacramento.
"Admission will be free for the two-day family oriented, alcohol free event," stated Mr. Camillo.
Performers include: Prezident Brown, Amandla Poets, Earl Zero, Ras Rebel, Gale Rivilla, Brother G with The River Jordan Band, Ayouba and the Blazing Cornerstones, TuFan, The Green Acres, Meguen Touko, The Huklebucks, J.J. and J. Bryon, Ze Manel, Far From Home, Aaron King and the Imperials.
The festival is a "Collective Volunteer Pledge for Needy Children" sponsored by the United Nations International Year of Volunteers. The focus of the festival is on child abuse prevention. "For those who don't know, said Makuba Sekombo, Africanmix project coordinator, " the entire idea behind Africamix Festival is having fun while helping to combat child abuse and neglect." Africamix is a California based nonprofit organization of volunteers serving to introduce and incorporate volunteer arts and music celebrations into community based abuse intervention and prevention activities
There will be other acts along with speakers from the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Sacramento County of Human Assistance Department, Save the Children, Prevent Child Abuse California, Child Abuse Prevention Counsel and Sacramento Boys and Girls Club.
